A Richmond-based youth organization is scheduling a shoreline clean up in Steveston on Tuesday.

The Youth Network Society (YNS) is encouraging anyone in the community to meet them at Garry Point Park at 10 a.m. on Aug. 16 to remove litter from the beach.

Raising awareness and creating a clean environment for wildlife and residents is the goal of the event, according to YNS.

Volunteers do not need to prepare anything for the event as everything will be provided including gloves, garbage pickers and garbage bags. However, everyone is asked to dress appropriately for the weather.

Students can also log volunteer hours and will receive certificates for coming out.

Volunteers are required to submit a form digitally prior to the event, by clicking here.
