MLA Henry Yao and the City of Richmond are hosting a volunteer event to remove invasive species Saturday morning.
The event will take place on the north side of Garden City Park from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27.
"The event is happening now because it’s the beginning of blackberry season and was planned to proactively remove invasive species now so they don’t cause more damage as they grow," said Cailin Tyrrell, a spokesperson for New Democrat BC Government Caucus.
The volunteer event is in collaboration with St. Johh Ambulance for first aid support.
