This is part of a series called “Richmond under Construction” highlighting development in the city.

Two single-family lots in Hamilton will soon be converted into 25 townhomes.

Framing of 25 townhomes is currently underway at the corner of Westminster Highway and McLean Avenue.

In the centre of the townhouse complex, there will be a small outdoor area with play equipment, seating and picnic tables.

The developer, Refined Properties, will build two of the 25 units as “convertible units” meaning they can be modified in the future to be “fully accessible units.”

Originally, the lots now under construction, at 22720 and 22740 Westminster Highway, were single-family lots.

The first lot was rezoned already in 2016 for townhomes, but it was then consolidated with an adjacent single-family lot.

In 2017, they applied and received a development permit for the 25-unit townhouse project that will include road widening and a cul-de-sac.
