A 47-year-old Richmond resident was arrested and charged for several incidents of fraud and theft in 2018 and 2019.

Paul David Loh was arrested on Aug. 25, Richmond RCMP said in a release on Friday.

According to the Richmond RCMP, they started investigating Loh in 2018 after a series of “suspicious credit and debit card transactions at various businesses, banks and casinos across the Lower Mainland.”

“The Richmond Criminal Intelligence Section worked diligently on this investigation to compile evidence regarding the suspicious financial transactions before seeking charge approval,” said Cpl. Ian Henderson, media relations officer with the Richmond RCMP.

The BC Prosecution Service approved of charges against Loh with fraud over $5,000 and fraud under $5,000 in March 2019, but he remained at large until his recent arrest.

Loh is in custody at this time and is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Richmond on Tuesday.
