Richmond residents bucked the regional trend and are the most pessimistic in the Lower Mainland about buying as 44 per cent said it is not a good time to buy (compared to the Lower Mainland's average of 34 per cent.
A total of 49 per cent of those polled said it is a good time to buy. The Lower Mainland's average was 54 per cent. Six months ago, 46 per cent thought it was a good time to buy.
In regards to selling, most Richmond residents feel the time isn't right. But compared to six months ago, these negative attitudes towards selling are waning.
Specifically, 62 per cent of Richmond residents feel it is not a good time to sell a home this spring.
This marks a big drop from last fall, when 74 per cent of Richmond residents held this opinion.
Only 26 per cent of Richmond residents believe it is a good time to sell which matched the Lower Mainland's average. Six months ago, 23 per cent thought is was a good time to sell.
