Richmond sidewalk now a no-go for cars...thanks to new bollards

There will be no more brazen parking on a particular sidewalk – because it has been blocked off.

The Richmond News reported earlier this week how a motorist was captured on social media parking their white Mercedes on a large section of sidewalk, right next to a “no vehicles on sidewalk” sign.

However, on Thursday, a crew was spotted installing a set of bollards at the site on Hollybridge Way in the Olympic Oval precinct.

An explicit photo of the original misdemeanour was uploaded to Facebook group “‎Richmond Learns to Park” last Sunday by Paul Phelan‎.

Phelan’s caption read “Richmond: the only place where you need a sign that says no vehicles on the sidewalk, yet it’s still disobeyed.”
