Richmond school information delayed

Parents are told to contact schools on Thursday morning if emailed information hasn't come through.

Richmond Schools Stand United’s Kim Nowitsky is calling for the government to move ahead with seismic mitigation work on local schools that require the upgrades.

Public schools in Richmond are set to re-open on Thursday morning but information about classes might be delayed.

The school district tweeted out Wednesday that emails have been sent to families, but they have been delayed “due to circumstances outside of the district’s control.”

Families are told to call their kids’ school on Thursday morning by 8 a.m. if they haven’t received the school district email.

 

 

Teachers and administrative staff were in schools on Tuesday and Wednesday preparing for the arrival of students.

When surveyed, 95 per cent of high school students and 65 per cent of elementary students were planning to return to school.
