A Richmond man has been arrested for attempting to rob a bank on Tuesday afternoon.

Richmond RCMP officers responded to a "hold-up alarm" at a financial institution near No. 3 Road and Park Drive shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.

David Song Bai Peng, 38, was arrested "without incident" and is in custody and facing one charge of robbery, said Richmond RCMP in an email to the Richmond News.

A photo submitted to the News on the day of the robbery showed several Richmond RCMP vehicles and yellow tape surrounding the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Canada).

Peng is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on March 8.
