Richmond RCMP interrupted an alleged B&E in progress in the 7300 block of Westminster Highway.

Richmond RCMP arrested a man after he tried to flee an alleged break and enter.

Shortly after 11:15 p.m. on Feb. 22, Richmond RCMP went to the 7300 block of Westminster Highway, just west of Minoru Boulevard, for a possible break-and-enter in progress.

Richmond RCMP frontline officers quickly contained the area.

As they were containing the building, a man left the business through the front door and tried to leave the area on foot.

Richmond RCMP frontline officers found and arrested him immediately.

"This is just one of many examples of what our frontline officers are doing on a daily basis in support of public safety in Richmond," said Inspector Mike Roberts, officer-in-charge of Richmond RCMP Frontline Operations.

The suspect was arrested and held in custody.

Charges were then laid against the suspect.

The investigation remains on-going.
