RCMP arrest suspect after alleged bomb threat at Richmond City Hall

A police dog team searched city hall but no explosives were found.

There was an alleged bomb threat at Richmond City Hall on Monday.

Richmond RCMP received a report in the late afternoon on Monday of someone allegedly threatening to bomb Richmond City Hall.

Police were able to identify a suspect and quickly arrested them.

With the assistance of the Lower Mainland Police Dog Services, RCMP conducted a search of city hall.

No explosives were located.

The suspect was released from custody and charges are pending, said Richmond RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Adriana O'Malley.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
