Richmond paramedics strike gold

Local trio beat out the U.S. and U.K for the global title in Europe

A team of Richmond-based paramedics have won gold for Canada at a global competition in Europe.

Chris Naples, Kevin Lambert and Rico Ruffy won the gold medal for paramedics at the famed Rejviz Rally global medical rescue competition held annually in the Czech Republic.

The team was ably assisted by trainer and retired advanced paramedic Clarke McGuire and team manager John Richmond as it beat out the U.S. and Great Britain for first place.

The Richmond team had previously won two silver medals from 2012 and 2013.
