Next week, Richmond Martial Arts will host a fundraiser for International Justice Mission, a charity that fights against slavery and violence against the poor worldwide.

On April 28, the “Breaking Boards – Breaking Chains” fundraiser will feature martial arts, break dancing, parkour, cheer, tricking, capoeira and dance performances. Hundreds of boards will also be broken using a variety of Taekwondo techniques.

Leading up to the event, students have been collecting donation pledges and Lansdowne Mall has donated the use of their space so all proceeds of the event can go to IJM.

Last year’s Breaking Boards event raised $75,000 for IJM for the organizations work in Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Peru.
