The City of Richmond is all dressed up for Pride, with a number of facilities putting up displays or hosting events for or will be, for Pride Week (July 31 to Aug. 6).

One example is the first-ever rainbow circle for the referee's ice area on the Coliseum Rink at Richmond Ice Centre.

And on Thursday, youth and artist Carling Jackson from the Media Lab painted the large stairwell in the centre of the atrium at Richmond Cultural Centre in Pride rainbow colours.

“Pride Week is an important time in our cultural and community life when the City of Richmond and its community partners come together to celebrate our Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual and Two Sprit (LGBTQ2S) communities,” said Ted Townsend, spokesperson for the city.
