Richmond Fire-Rescue is investigating a first alarm fire on Blundell Road

Richmond Fire-Rescue and Richmond RCMP are investigating a structure fire in Richmond.

Fire crews responded to the first alarm structure fire in the 13000-block of Blundell Road, between Sidaway and No. 6 roads, around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, said Deputy Chief Kevin Gray, who confirmed the fire was being investigated.

The fire, which was in an out-building on the property, was quickly extinguished.

There were no injuries to the occupants or first responders, said Gray.

He said the fire was not suspicious, however, the property has non-compliant electrical issues that need to be addressed.

Richmond Fire-Rescue will be working with the property owner to meet that electrical compliance.
