Smoke coming from a TransLink bus was turning heads in Richmond on Tuesday morning.

Richmond Fire-Rescue (RFR) crew was called to Cook and No. 3 roads around 11:15 a.m. to a reported fire on the 405 bus with smoke coming from the engine bay at the back of the bus.

However, a construction worker working nearby managed to put out the fire before firefighters arrived.

Grant Wyenberg, assistant deputy chief at RFR, said the incident was "fairly minor in nature" with no injuries to passengers or transit staff.

RFR is in the process of investigating the cause of the fire.
