Richmond community centre offers a fraud-free shredding event this Saturday

People are encouraged to bring their papers and old electronics to the community centre for its first spring shredding and electronic recycling event.

To help ensure people don’t become victims of fraud after they toss confidential documents in the trash, Cambie Community centre is hosting a shredding and recycling event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To help ensure people don’t become victims of fraud after they toss confidential documents in the trash, Cambie Community centre is hosting a shredding and recycling event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

People are encouraged to bring their papers and old electronics to the community centre for its first spring shredding and electronic recycling event.

The electronic recycling association, a Richmond non-profit which has strived to reduce unnecessary electronic waste since 2004, will also be on site to recycle old cell-phones, tablets or laptops. 

Reservations are not needed, but people are encouraged to bring a minimum cash donation of $10 to help support the association. 

Participants must adhere to the health and safety guidelines, such as maintaining social distancing at the event.
