Update: Richmond Canada Line service ending early for next four weeks

The service disruptions will only occur from Monday to Thursday and are due to ongoing construction for the new Capstan station.
Capstan Station 1
Canada Line service between Bridgeport and Richmond-Brighouse stations will be ending at 9:30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays from Oct. 11 to Nov. 4.

Service on Canada Line between Bridgeport and Richmond-Brighouse stations will be ending approximately four hours early on Mondays to Thursdays from Oct. 11 to Nov. 4.

For the next four weeks, service on weekdays will be ending at 9:30 p.m. Service frequency between Bridgeport and Waterfront will also be reduced to every 20 minutes after 11 p.m. starting Oct. 16.

TransLink had previously stated that service disruptions would take place from Monday to Friday, but updated the schedule on Thursday, Oct. 6, to indicate that Fridays will no longer be affected.

The temporary service changes are to ensure the safety of workers and the public during the construction of the new Capstan Station. Crews will be using cranes to install large pieces of steel to connect the top of the station's H-Frames, which can't be used safely above the track while trains are running.

Extra bus service will be available between Bridgeport and Richmond-Brighouse stations and buses will stop at each impacted station approximately every 10 minutes.
