Fun fact about Richmond...

Do you know there were years of public debate, negotiations and disputes regarding Garden City Lands before 2010?

The land was once federally owned by the Canadian government and was designated for agricultural purposes.

In the early 2000s, it was transferred to the Musqueam First Nation, Canada Lands Company and the City of Richmond.

After years of debates and resistance against developing the land for housing and commercial use, the city finally purchased full ownership of it.
