Fun fact about Richmond...
Do you know when the first movie theatre opened in Richmond?
Well-known and respected Richmond resident Eugene Greczmiel, whose life story is filled with tales of entrepreneurial determination and success, opened the first theatre in Richmond in 1929 called the Richmond Theatre, according to Friends of the Richmond Archives.
The theatre was located on Moncton Street, which survived the 1918 Steveston Fire.
Around 1932, Greczmiel opened the Marpole Theatre on the Vancouver side of the Fraser River and the Richmond Theatre closed.
