According to assistant deputy chief Grant Wyenberg, the fire was "quickly knocked down," stopping it from spreading to other boats nearby.
The pleasure craft sustained heavy smoke damage, but there was just "limited fire damage" in the living quarters.
The lone occupant of the boat was uninjured.
Richmond Fire-Rescue investigation staff are currently on scene and have begun their initial investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, Wyenberg said.
