Richmond RCMP are seeking more information from the public after a massage therapist was charged with sexual assault.
Jiajian Sun, 52, also known as “Dr. Ken,” has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
He was arrested on June 18 and was released on conditions that include not being alone, without another adult present, during any treatment or massage.
The College of Complementary Health Professionals, however, told the Richmond News that Sun has never been a registrant of the college nor of its predecessor, the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, therefore, he is not a "registered massage therapist."
The assault allegedly took place in August 2024 in a clinic in the 8000-block of Alexandra Road near No. 3 Road.
Richmond RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Melissa Liu said police are releasing a photo of Sun as they believe there may be people with more information that could help in the investigation.
They are urging anyone with information to reach out to police.
“The top priority for investigators is to speak with anyone with information that has not yet come forward, and to gather all available evidence,” Liu said in a media release.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212. Richmond RCMP Victim Services is available to anyone in need of assistance.
The court has imposed a ban on publishing the identity of any witnesses or victims.
