The RFC United U16 boys won the Coastal B Cup

RFC United’s U16 boys team landed the 2022 Coastal B Cup last weekend.

The 06 boys lifted the trophy after putting away Langley United 4-0 in the final, crowning the team as the Lower Mainland’s top dogs in Division 1.

The win also solidified the boys’ place in the Les Sinnot Memorial Provincial Tournament, scheduled for July 7 – 10 in Kamloops.

Last weekend was especially satisfying for the team’s head coach, Mike Oughtred, who said the win and qualification for the provincials was a “story of adversity, perseverance and commitment.”

“These boys went from zero wins in two years to only one loss this year and eventual Coastal Cup Championship as the Lower Mainland’s best team,” added Oughtred.

“They have become so close during the process and I am very proud of the work that they have put in.”
