Regular Canada Line service resumes in Richmond

The delays had been caused by Capstan Station construction

Canada Line users in Richmond can expect regular train frequencies again starting Wednesday.

Translink announced that the Capstan Station construction work completed “earlier than anticipated” and Canada Line will return to regular service.

Construction work for the current phase of the new station finished two-weeks ahead of schedule.

On Jan. 10, TransLink temporarily adjusted Canada Line train frequencies between Bridgeport and Brighouse stations to allow construction work to be done on the new station.

Trains were operating on a single track system, meaning there were fewer trains running and additional bus services.

Capstan Station is a new Canada Line station between the existing Bridgeport and Aberdeen stations, near the intersection of No. 3 Road and Capstan Way.

It’s expected to be completed in March 2023 and is being built to support the growing development in the area and to provide for customers.
