If you’ve been craving poké in Richmond, it’s your lucky week as the city’s first poké restaurant has opened.
Native to Hawaii, poké is a seafood dish similar to a raw fish salad that has been influenced by Hawaiian and other Asian cuisines. The cuisine has been growing in popularity in Metro Vancouver and now, Richmond will have its own restaurant as Westcoast Poké has opened its second location at in Ironwood Plaza at 11666 Steveston Highway.
While the restaurant had its soft opening on Monday, it will celebrate its official grand opening on Friday and has partnered with Seven Seas Fish Co. to provide free dishes to the first 500 customers.
Those first 500 customers will get to choose one of the following dishes:
- Pacific – Albacore tuna, scallion, sweet onion, cilantro, pickled red onion, fresh pineapple, fresh mango, crab salad, coconut green curry sauce
- Cascade – Atlantic salmon, scallion, sweet onion, Thai chili, kimchi cucumber, spicy seaweed salad, crab salad, jalapeno, sriracha yuzu sauce
- Aloha – Ahi tuna, scallion, sweet onion, cucumber, jalapeno, seaweed salad, avocado, shoyu
