Photos: Richmond Olympic Park Run's 6th birthday was scary good

The free, weekly 5K run along the Middle Arm Trail attracted all kinds of creatures great and small

A total of 84 runners, joggers and walkers turned out Saturday morning for the Richmond Olympic Park Run’s sixth birthday and Halloween special.

Nine volunteers were also taking part in the free, weekly 5K run along the Middle Arm Trail, with the majority of the participants dressed for the occasion.

All kinds of people are invited and take part every week, from serious runners (who can sign up to receive a recorded time) to casual joggers and walkers.

And for the latter, there’s no need to worry about being left behind as there is a designated “tail walker” every week to keep those near the back company.

Organizers also note that there are numerous volunteer roles available.

The event kicks off every week at 9a .m. from close to the Richmond Yacht Club on River Road, just south of its intersection with Cambie Road.
