Photo Gallery: See what Richmond looks like in the Year of the Tiger

Richmondite celebrates Lunar New Year with photos.

As people are ushering in the Lunar New Year by having a feast with family or watching virtual events at the comfort of their homes, Richmondite Winston Sayson chose to celebrate it in a unique way.

Sayson is known to frequent various areas of Richmond and capturing installations, murals and artworks during holidays and festivities.

This year, Sayson, a retired crown prosecutor, hunted down and snapped photos of the city’s Lunar New Years decorations with a goal of bringing more positivity to the community.

Sayson’s photos were taken from supermarkets and shopping centers.

One of the his photos feature a Money God, a miniature Mandarin orange tree and a set of firecracker decorations.

"These little decorations are so beautiful and uplifting to see, which showcase Richmond as one of the largest multi-ethnic communities," said Sayson.

He noted that PriceSmart on Ackroyd Road and Lansdowne Centre have “some fun and unique decorations” this year.

"Wishing everyone a festive and prosperous Lunar New Year," said Winston.
