Could this be the guy that has been “hunting” walkers and joggers on the West Dyke Trail this winter?

Richmond News reader Chris Lam captured this wonderful shot of a resident barred owl scoping out its next meal on the trail recently.

The News has reported a few times in the last two years how owls – thought to the barred owl – has been swooping down on people walking or running the trail, possibly mistaking them for prey.
