A 59-year-old man is dead after being struck by a car while trying to cross No. 3 Road.
It's believed the man, a Richmond resident, was trying to get across No. 3 near Bridgeport Road, away from a crosswalk, around 6 p.m. on Wednesday when he was struck by a southbound vehicle, possibly a BMW SUV.
Emergency services tended to the stricken pedestrian and he was taken to Vancouver General Hospital but died shortly after from the serious injuries.
Crash investigators believe the collision happened at a "fairly low speed" and that alcohol or drugs don't appear to be factors.
The investigation, however, is continuing and it's not known whether charges will be laid.
