Motorists travelling on Highway 99 through the George Massey Tunnel in the evening this week should expect minor delays.
Overnight lane closures are in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Aug. 5 to 7 and on Aug. 10.
The road work is part of the Fraser River Tunnel Project to replace the George Massey Tunnel with a new eight-lane, toll-free tunnel.
The lane closures are to make sure crews can safely complete a "pre-conditioned assessment ahead of geotechnical work" that is planned on Deas Island this month, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
One lane will be closed per night, while traffic in both directions will still be in place.
There will be signs and traffic-control personnel on-site during the time lanes are closed.
