Mounties seen searching detached Richmond home multiple times

Richmond RCMP confirmed they have been at the house for two separate, ongoing, investigations

A detached home in a quiet residential Richmond street has been searched multiple times by police in the last few months.

According to an eye witness, police were seen searching the house at the southeast corner of Tiffany Blvd. and Tiffany Place, near No. 2 Road and Westminster Highway, as recent at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Richmond RCMP has confirmed it’s at least the fourth such “visit” to the home since May.

A police van was at the house on Wednesday and the witness said they saw an officer carry at least two “duffle bags” out of the house. Police were also seen opening the garage of the house.

The witness claimed that this is the third time in the past few months that the house has been searched by Mounties, adding they also saw police there on May 26 and June 2.

During the May raid, there were several police officers and “about seven police vehicles,” according to the witness, who said they saw Mounties take two bicycles out of the house but understands more were seized.

The second incident occurred around 10 a.m. on June 2, they said, with about seven police cars, a van and around eight police officers on scene.

The witness claimed they saw police intermittently carrying what appeared to be evidence out of the house during the June incident.

Richmond RCMP confirmed to the News that they were present at the house on Wednesday as part of an “ongoing investigation,” and that there is no risk to public safety.

Cpl. Ian Henderson confirmed that Mounties were at the house in late May as well and on June 2 as “part of an unrelated investigation.” RCMP were also at the house for that matter on June 7.

However, the two investigations are still ongoing and no further details could be shared, Henderson said.
