If you thought you saw a boatload of beauties floating down the Fraser River Monday - in fact, you did.
The finalists in the River Rock Resort ITM-NSR Model Look North America 2012 beauty pageant were being given a dragon boat lesson at the UBC Boathouse.
The male and female hopefuls spent the day taking part in a number of activities in Richmond, which also included visiting the Richmond Olympic Oval's climbing wall and visiting the Lulu Island Winery.
The modeling competition is one of Canada's top modeling contests. Four of the 24 beauty pageant finalists hail from Richmond - Veronica Wen, 16, Candace Bergmann, 21, Jamie Hui, 23, as well as 16-year-old Ken Ku.
Thursday, the winner will be crowned during the finale show at the River Rock Casino Resort Theatre.
Over the past seven years, ITM has sent 20 models to the China competition. The winner from both the male and female categories will walk away with an all-expense paid trip to China to compete in that country's prestigious modeling contest this fall.
The 8th Annual Model Look Finale Show happens on Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m. at the River Rock Casino Resort Theatre, 8811 River Rd. All ticket proceeds are donated to the BC Cancer Foundation. Finale Show tickets are $38 and $68.
