You’ll likely be walking through a winter wonderland this Christmas.
Meteorologists are predicting a “perfect Christmas” for Metro Vancouver, at least when it comes to the weather.
In a special weather statement, Environment Canada is calling for a 70 per cent chance of snow on Christmas Eve. At least 2-4 cm of snow is expected to accumulate before Christmas Day.
“At present, snow is expected to develop across Vancouver Island during the day on Sunday and spread to the mainland coast by the evening,” the statement said.
The perfect conditions should continue on Christmas Day with the forecast calling for a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a drop in the mercury that will continue into next week.
There have been a handful of “perfect Christmases” — when more than two centimetres of snow have accumulated by Christmas Day — in the Lower Mainland since 1955.
