Drivers can expect delays trying to cross the George Massey Tunnel thanks to overnight maintenance work that begins later today. The work is scheduled to finish Friday, Oct. 5. Crews will be working from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day, resulting in single-lane closures in each direction on Highway 99. According to Mainroad Group, the work specifically impacts between exits 26 and 28.
On another front, there's still no word when the transportation minister will make public the findings of an independent technical review of the crosssing.
