Man accused of child luring in Steveston released on bail

Conditions include no contact with minors and no going to public parks.

A man accused of a child luring attempt has been released on bail.

The man accused of a child luring attempt in Richmond has been released again.

Peter Andrew Wehren, 32, appeared by video at Richmond Provincial Court on Thursday morning for his bail hearing.

He was originally scheduled to have a bail hearing on March 5 but it was moved ahead.

Judge Glenn Lee, who heard the parties consented to Wehren's release with conditions, granted bail with no financial obligation.

Wehren's bail conditions include no contacting individuals in the case, no possessing alcohol unless he is inside his residence and no being intoxicated in any place other than his residence.

He is also forbidden from contacting children under 16 years old, going to places such as public parks where children under 16 years old are present or can be expected to be present, working with children under 16 years old unless he has permission from his bail supervisor and communicating with children through the internet unless they are members of his family.

He is scheduled to return to court on April 9.
