Long weekend traffic snafu at Oak Street Bridge

The closure is a result of a culvert failure that caused a rupture in the road on Tuesday.

A culvert collapsed on Tuesday, Aug. 26 on Highway 99 northbound before the Oak Street Bridge.

Your long weekend plans will be better off by avoiding the Oak Street Bridge as Highway 99 northbound, right before the onramp, will be limited to one lane of traffic.

The closure is a result of a culvert failure that caused a rupture in the road on Tuesday, next to the Bridgeport off-ramp.

On Thursday the Ministry of Transportation notified the public one lane will remain closed until Monday, Sep. 1.

Until then, cars will be diverted around the construction zone via the wide median.
