Li was at a hotel in Richmond on Tuesday morning where the Conservatives were officially announcing Wat’s move from the BC United Party to their party.
Li focused on the fact she lives in Richmond whereas Wat doesn’t.

“I have witnessed first-hand the worries and challenges we’re facing fight now,” Li said.
So far, the Conservatives have three candidates in Richmond. Michelle Mollineaux is running in Richmond-Steveston and Steve Kooner is running in Richmond-Queensborough.
When asked by the News, Kooner didn’t answer whether he lives in Richmond, rather he said he has “deep roots” and a network in Richmond.
The Conservatives haven’t yet chosen a candidate for Richmond Centre (previously Richmond South Centre).
As for BC United candidates, Wendy Yuan is running in Richmond Centre, Pavan Bahia is running in Richmond-Queensborough and Jackie Lee is running Richmond-Steveston.
The News has reached out to BC United about a candidate to replace Wat.
