Letters: Revving up for election in Richmond

A Richmond News reader is looking forward to the upcoming civic election

Dear Editor,

Re: “Former cop, MLA eyes council seat,” News, Aug. 25

Thanks for an excellent report about the candidates for the upcoming municipal election. It promises to be an exciting election.

All of the incumbent councillors, except Coun. Harold Steves are seeking re-election. Furthermore, there are a number of very high-profile candidates running under different political slates.

This gives us voters lots of choices for the makeup of our City Council on October 15. Hopefully, this will motivate the citizens of Richmond to take a keen interest in the election and exercise their precious right to vote.

Incidentally, I would like to convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to retiring veteran Steves for his excellent service to this province and the City of Richmond. Enjoy your retirement, Harold!
