Dear Editor,

On Sunday afternoon, my family and I were enjoying a beautiful bike ride along the south dike at Steveston.

I took a tumble from my bike and it was evident I needed help. A call was made to 911 and emergency responders arrived.

I cannot emphasize enough how great these people were to me, beginning with the first firefighter, who met my husband along the trail and borrowed his bike to make it to me as quickly as possible while carrying the oxygen, the second responder who calmed and reassured me while waiting for the ambulance and checking my vitals, the ambulance crew who did their utmost to get the ambulance as close as possible to me through a narrow bike path, the ER nurses and doctors who all helped me.

I am now resting at home having had surgery on the second day.

I cannot say enough great things about all the wonderful caring, attentive, genuine people who came to my aid.
