To our students, families, staff and community:

As we come to the end of another school year, I want to acknowledge that this has been another challenging year for us all, in particular for our schools. Various COVID-19 waves and changing public health orders meant our schools and programs needed to continue to adapt.

Yet our school communities and many in our wider Richmond community did an amazing job of pulling together to ensure our schools remained open as safe, supportive places of care, connection and learning for our students.

We are grateful for the resilience, dedication, creativity and community spirit we witnessed this year. We are also glad that many students have been able to get back to in-person field trips, fine arts performances, grad and other activities.

To all SD38 staff, thank you for once again going above and beyond every day.

To parents and caregivers, thank you for your patience, support and for the many ways you contribute to the life of your school. Thank you, as well, to the many individuals and organizations in Richmond who partner with us to enhance the school experience for our students.

To those graduating or otherwise moving on, we offer you every good wish for the future. To those returning next year, we wish you a wonderful summer break filled with rest and renewal. And to those who will be joining the Richmond School District next year, we offer you a warm welcome as we look towards a promising new school year.

Have a safe and happy summer.
