Kudos: Richmond worker and friend donate tablets, toys to BC Children’s Hospital

Tablets, toys and other donations were donated to kids at BC Children's Hospital as COVID-19 continues.

Two boys donated a total of 159 iPads and tablets, over 1,000 toys and $13,000 worth of donations to benefit kids at BC Children’s Hospital during the pandemic.

Landon Brown, 18, who workers for in the automotive industry in Richmond, and Bear Yeung, 10, who is from West Vancouver, heard about the “severe restrictions on visitors” at the hospital and wanted to help the kids feel less isolated during COVID-19.

According to Yeung’s dad, the hospital was only allowing one caregiver per child due to safety protocols during the pandemic.

The tablets and iPads were donated to help kids stay connected with their family and friends as well as to help the kids pass time during treatments.

Support and donations were also given to Yeung and Brown from local organizations including Porsche Club of America Canada West, Dreams on Wheels, Canadian Tire, Rogers and Lego.
