Highway 99 at the Steveston Highway interchange will be closed overnight Monday into Tuesday

Drivers are being advised that Highway 99 at the Steveston Highway interchange will be closed again tonight.

The highway will be closed just before the Massey Tunnel from 11 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday to allow for more work to be carried out to relocate Telus lines in preparation for the new interchange construction.

As a result, drivers using Highway 99 will be diverted up and over the existing on- and off-ramps at Steveston Highway.

Short-term traffic stoppages on the ramps may also be necessary, however, access for emergency responders, residents and businesses will be maintained throughout the work.

As part of the work, drivers can also expect lane closures and minor delays on the west side of Steveston Highway from 8 p.m. on March 21 until 5 a.m. on March 22.

Drivers can expect minor delays and are asked to use caution through the detour.
