Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement to warn of a "long duration rainfall event" this Easter weekend.
Forecasts show a total of 20 to 50 mm in rainfall from now until Sunday, as two systems are directed towards the south coast by a strong southwest flow. The first system is bringing periods of rain expected to ease later today, but rain will become heavy again tonight and continue through most of Sunday upon the second system's arrival.
According to the statement, minor flooding may take place in low-lying areas.
