Hamilton residents get one more kick at area plan

The City of Richmond is finalizing an update to the Hamilton Area Plan and is seeking input from residents before the plan goes to council.

The public is invited to come out to the third information open house on this topic on Thursday, June 27 at 6: 30 p.m.

A proposed concept plan will be presented, which along with feedback and further study, will be used to finalize the area plan.

Residents will have an opportunity to learn about the proposed concept, see display boards, talk to project staff and most importantly, provide feedback.

The drop-in style open house will be held at the Hamilton Community Centre at 5140 Smith Dr.

Bullhead Derby launches Salmon fest

The Steveston Salmon Festival kicks off on Sunday, June 23 with the annual Bullhead Derby, hosted by the Richmond Golden Rods and Reels Society.

Pack your lawn chairs, fishing rods, and barbless hooks and join in at Garry Point Park in Steveston for a fun morning with the family.

The Bullhead Derby is open to kids 12 and under and seniors 65 and over.

Everyone is welcome to come and cheer on the anglers. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the derby opens at 10 a.m. until noon.
