Richmondites in need of some assistance this tax season are invited to take part in one of many upcoming, free clinics.

On Saturdays throughout March and April, the Richmond Public Library will host income tax clinics in partnership with the Lord’s Harvest Fellowship where trained volunteers will help participants fill out their income tax returns.

“We are thankful and blessed that the income tax clinic for the past eight years has been extending a helping hand in preparing and filling income taxes for students, seniors, new immigrants and people with modest income in our community,” said Pastor Abe Lagayan, representative of the Lord’s Harvest Fellowship in a press release.

Each session is 45 minutes long per person and couples must register for one time slot each. Registration is required for each session and can be done by calling 604-231-6413 or by visiting the Brighouse branch of the public library (7700 Minoru Gate).

Additionally, Richmond Multicultural Community Services is hosting clinics from March 4 to May 3 at 7000 Minoru Blvd. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday and can be booked by calling 604-279-7160.

To qualify for a clinic at both the library and through RMCS, single participants must not have an income that exceeds $35,000 and couples must have a maximum income of $45,000, plus $2,500 per child.

Participants will need to bring a piece of government issued photo ID and all relevant documents such as their T4, T5 and Canada Child Benefits slips.
