Richmond repair fair is returning this weekend to help people mend their clothing.

Another free Repair Fair is being held this weekend, this time at the West Richmond Community Centre.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 17, community members can reserve one-on-one sessions with repair experts to fix an item of clothing.

Each session is restricted to one clothing item and each person is limited to one session. Sign-ups are available online. Not all repairs can be done within the time limit but experts can offer guidance on the next steps.

Drop-ins are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In addition to repair sessions, this weekend's event will feature a new sewing circle lesson from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. where community members can learn to thread a needle, sew a button back on and a few simple stitches.

Community members are welcome to bring an item of clothing to work on during the lesson and scraps and supplies will also be provided.

Zipper appointments for 40 minutes are also available.

The repair fair is funded by Metro Vancouver and a part of the City of Richmond's initiative to support a circular economy and reducing waste.
