Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for much of Metro Vancouver, including Richmond.
A strong Pacific storm will bring “a brief period of significant wind” to the south coast through Friday night and Saturday morning, according to the forecast.
The strong winds, which are expected to reach up to 70 kilometres per hour late this evening, may cause damage. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind or cause tree branches to break.
The winds will continue into Saturday morning and ease throughout tomorrow afternoon.
Yesterday, the department issued a warning for heavy rain, stating that up to 90 millimetres of rainfall was expected overnight.
