The COVID-19 outbreak at Richmond Hospital continues with one new case reported on Friday bringing the total to five.
Three patients and two staff members have contracted the virus at the hospital so far.
The outbreak was declared on Saturday, May 2, after which outbreak protocols were put in place.
The province has been looking at bringing back elective surgeries, cancelled in preparation for hospitals to handle COVID-19 cases, but Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, said those facilities that have had outbreaks will be dealt with more cautiously.
On Friday, the province announced 15 new cases of COVID-19 across B.C. with 51 people in hospital and 12 in intensive care.
