Police and fire officials in Richmond are investigating a suspicious fire that broke out shortly before midnight Sunday.
Fire crews arrived to find three dump trucks ablaze in a remote corner of a parking lot in the 15000 block of River Road, near No. 7 Road.
The crews did their best to contain the blaze, which was close to Rusty’s Auto Towing yard.
The fire was located at the far back of the huge compound and firefighters had to force the gate open to gain access.
Four units and 11 fire fighters from Richmond Fire Rescue attended the scene.
Crews remained on the scene until the fire was struck down after about an hour and 53 minutes.
The property where the fire took place is owned by Gary Tonks Ltd and the three dump trucks were owned by Bill Power Inc.
An investigation is underway and it’s understood the fire is being treated as suspicious at the moment.
