An East Ladner cannabis greenhouse operation is getting into the Ontario market.
Rubicon Organics Inc., which operates an organic certified 125,000-square-foot facility on 104th Street, announced this week the launch of its flower brand, Simply Bare Organic, into Ontario where it will be available in stores and online in the coming weeks.
Rubicon Organics, together with Agro-Greens Natural Products Ltd., signed a supply agreement with Ontario Cannabis Store.
“Following the positive consumer response in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, launching Simply Bare Organic in Ontario, Canada’s largest market, is the natural next step for Rubicon Organics. We believe that consumers will love our terpene rich certified organic flower,” said Jesse McConnell, CEO of Rubicon Organics, in a news release.
Meanwhile, Canopy Growth, Canada’s largest cannabis producer, has announced major reductions in its global operations intended to improve production, balance supply and demand and enhance overall efficiency.
Several weeks ago the company announced other changes including the abrupt closure of its massive greenhouse operation on Hornby Drive in East Ladner, an operation that was around less than two years called B.C. Tweed.
B.C. Tweed’s 1.7-million-square-foot facility in Delta was to be one of the biggest players in the Canadian recreational marijuana market.
Pure Sunfarms and AgraFlora are two other massive cannabis greenhouse operations in Delta that are continuing in their growth plans.
