A construction truck rear-ended a crane truck on Highway 99 in Richmond Tuesday morning, slowing traffic during the morning rush.

Sgt. Loren Lecker with the RCMP's Deas Island traffic unit said a truck carrying a construction crane slowed down due to traffic conditions, and was rear-ended by a second construction-related truck.

The collision happened around 9 a.m. underneath the Blundell Road overpass.

Lecker said the driver of the crane truck was unharmed, but the driver of the truck that hit it was transported to hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

The crash was cleared around 10 a.m.

Lecker reminded the public to keep a safe following distance at all times. That means you need to be able to stop if the car in front you stops, no matter the reason.
